Mona Zandi Haghighi is a writer, director, producer, and editor of short films, documentaries, and features. Her work focuses on contemporary social issues in Persian culture. Her film African Violet, the tender and moving story of a middle-aged woman caring for her elderly ex-husband with the help of her current husband, is included in this year’s festival.
