MEPs Puigdemont, Comín and Ponsatí are organising a new event at the European Parliament Constituency Office in Barcelona, entitled 'Unity vs. Democracy', which aims to analyse the tensions between the indissoluble unity of the State and the respect for democratic principles, applied to the case of Spain.
Two experts in different fields will be taking part, providing two perspectives on the issue: a historical and a legal one.

He has directed the Catalan Historiography Dictionary, a work in which more than 250 Catalan, Spanish and international historians have written more than 2,000 articles. Since February 2007 he has also been a full member of the Historical-Archaeological Section of the Institute of Catalan Studies.
- Neus Torbisco-Casals: Professor of International Law at the Geneva Graduate Institute and Pompeu Fabra University. Author of Group Rights as Human Rights: A Liberal Approach to Multiculturalism and Multiculturalism, Identity Claims and Human Rights: From Politics to the Courts. Member of the governing council of the Council of the Catalan Republic and board member of Òmnium Cultural.
