Richard Baugh is part of AHDB’s Challenge Sheep project, part of which includes collecting data on the ewe’s performance at various time points throughout the breeding cycle. At lambing, Richard applies an ear tag to the lamb and links it to the mother to track the lamb’s performance throughout the year. It helps to identify which ewes have lost their lambs and also identify the top performers. This helps to make informed management decisions on farm.
