Clone commandos, also known as Republic commandos, were elite clone troopers that served in the Grand Army of the Republic's Special Operations Brigade during the Clone Wars. A result of the Kaminoans genetic experimentation with the Jango Fett template, they were special forces soldiers noted for their training and elite status.

As the conflict between the Galactic Republic and Confederacy of Independent Systems swept across the galaxy, the commandos were organized into squads that supported the Republic war effort.
At the start of the Clone Wars, five commando units served under Clone Commander Ponds during the First Battle of Geonosis where the newly-formed Grand Army of the Republic engaged the Separatist Droid Army for the first time in the Clone Wars.
During the battle, Ponds and his commandos served under the leadership of Jedi Master Mace Windu, a leading member of the High Council of the Jedi Order.
Now unfortunately since the Jedi didn’t have time to know who was under their command at the battle of Geonosis since they literally met their troops on the battlefield, many Commando units were not utilized to their full potential and just used as foot soldiers.
We know there are many Commando squads out there but the 3 squads we know most of is first of all The Bad Batch!
Clone Force 99 was named in remembrance of 99, a malformed maintenance duty clone who died while aiding the defense of Kamino from the Separatist invasion during the Clone Wars.
99 also gave Heavy the boost he needed to be a team player for his brothers in the Domino Squad.
The unit originated as a batch of clones who were born with "desirable" genetic mutations that made them superior soldiers, as a result of genetic manipulation.
These mutations also had the unique effect of altering their appearance and voice greatly from regular clone troopers or regs as they call them.
Each one of the members acquired certain abilities unique to the team.
We can see in the Bad Batch series what they can do with only 5 members and little time.
They are quick, clean and effective when it comes to executing missions.
While a part of the Grand Army of the Republic, they earned quite the reputation. They were known to have a one hundred percent success rate.
The second commando unit we know is of course Delta Squad!
Delta Squad, with its members being known as the Deltas, was a military special forces squad of the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars, a galactic civil war between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems.
The squad consisted of four clone commandos, unit leader Clone Sergeant Boss, second-in-command Fixer, then Sev and Scorch.
At one point, Delta Squad was deployed from a LAAT/i gunship into a battle zone in order to take control of territory.
In the aftermath of the massacre on the planet Devaron, Delta Squad recovered the bodies of Jedi General Halsey and his Padawan, Knox and brought them back to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, the capital world of the Galactic Republic.
Sergeant Boss reported directly to several members of the Jedi High Council and informed them that the entire military force on Devaron had perished along with Halsey and his apprentice, leading the Council to suspect the emergence of a new threat to the Jedi Order.
Their suspicion was confirmed after recovering security footage of the battle; a hologram of Halsey's death revealed his killer to be a Nightbrother of Dathomir, whom the Jedi would come to know as Savage Opress.
Delta Squad first appeared in the 2005 Star Wars Legends video game Star Wars: Republic Commando.
During development of "Witches of the Mist," a season-three episode of The Clone Wars, supervising director Dave Filoni requested that the creative team incorporate Delta Squad into the plot.
All four commandos were brought into canon in the episode guide for "Witches of the Mist."
Now at the time of this recording we see in episode 14 of the Bad Batch that there is a clone commando with similar armor to Scorch.
