Hazrat Daniyal alaihissalam (Prophet Daniel) is one of the prophets of Israel. His book is distinguished from most of the other books of the Bibles by several attributes, although it shares with them the general problem of the occurrence of distortion or alteration. King Nebuchadnezzar had a dream that disturbed him. He summoned his magicians and fortune-tellers to interpret its meaning, but none of them were able to do so. But Daniel beseeched Allah, and He revealed to him the dream as well as its interpretation. When he entered into the presence of the ruler he said to him: “The secret which the king has demanded, the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, and the soothsayers cannot declare to the king. Ibn Abi Al-Dunya writes that narrates that once Bakh Nasr or the Nebuchadnezzar captured two of the lions and threw them in a pit. He then captured Prophet Danyal and also threw him in the very pit. Miraculously the lions did not harm the Prophet.
