A man who accidentally drove his car into a swimming pool has been dramatically rescued by police.

Bodycam footage released by the Phoenix Police Department on Tuesday captures an officer leaping into the pool to break the car's sunroof and pulling the driver to safety.

On October 31, when the accident occurred, the driver explained to the cops that he accidentally pressed the accelerator too firmly, causing the vehicle to veer into the pool.
