This video is produced by joint project "Support to Sustainable Development in Lake Turkana and its River Basins" between United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Governments of Ethiopia and Kenya, co-funded by the European Union Emergency Trust for Africa, implemented by the UNEP-DHI Centre.

A key output of the project is a freely accessible web portal named Transboundary Monitoring Observatory (TMO), consisting of a number of applications (apps):

The portal provides free access to data and information, indicators, as well as tools for impact assessment and planning analyses. The app described in this video is the Planning, used for assessing, comparing and ranking different scenarios based on indicators. Scenarios could be new investments such as hydropower, rehabilitation measures such as reforestation, or climate change. The app enables comparison using maps, tables, key results charts, trade-off plots and Multi Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA), supporting discussions and informed decision making for basin planning.
