From this busy jetty tourists and locals hop on and hop off river taxis and ferries throughout the day. Upmarket hotels along the river have there own ferries to fetch and drop-off there hotel guests at this jetty.
Examples of hotel ferries shuttling guests to and from here include Sheraton Hotel, Anantara Riverside Hotel, Hilton Hotel, Chatrium Hotels, The Peninsula Hotel, Ramada Plaza Hotel and others. This is also the place to board the Chao Phraya Tourist Boat. One day tickets can be purchased on the jetty. Other boat services include river taxis recognized by the orange flags and orange T-shirts worn by the crew. Saphan Taksin is also the jetty from where tourists are offered a free boat ride to the Asiatique The Riverfront Shopping area.

It is the only rapid transit station in Bangkok which can transfer to a river pier for the crossing-river ferry to Thonburi and the Chao Phraya Express Boat service.
