Ernest Darwin Evans (June 1921 - December 2017) joined RAF Bomber Command during the Second World. He served in both ground-crew and aircrew, including as a navigator aboard bombers, but was never sent on missions over Europe. Here, he talks about a Lancaster Bomber's payload, and then describes an occasion where one aircraft flew for 18 hours.
I recorded this interview in November 2013.
