A 1985 advert for Natwest ("THE ACTION BANK"), from the yuppies-ascendent period in which your bank account was king and children were encouraged to get one from birth or THEY HAVE FAILED AS PEOPLE.
You might theoretically be able open an account with just £1, but the advert fails to elucidate precisely what use it - or the concomitant chequebook - would be. They'd better offer some INSANE interest rates if all I've got is a quid.
Natwest remained THE ACTION BANK for the whole last half of the eighties (mutating it into "Press For Action" for a couple of years, with a futuristic glowy button motif, until that no longer seemed impressive) before finally dropping it as they overhauled their image in 1991 with the Tubbs and Crockett/Grainy to-camera dialogues/"Here to Make Life Easier" campaign.
