So I am back from my vacation and what better way to start the new season than with a balcony tour. We have some good news and some bad news, but luckily nothing is very dramatic. Here are some highlights of my orchid collection:
The Cycnodes Wine Delight is one of those orchids that did extremely well for me. It is now producing a flower spike with quite a lot of buds about to open!
The Phalaenopsis bellina doesn't stop blooming! she is a sequential bloomer but all summer long she is producing lovely fragrant flowers.
The Habenaria medusae seems to be producing something new which I can only imagine is a flower spike! On the opposite end, Masdevallias really hate my hot environment, even on the water cylinder. I will eventually give up on it, sometimes you need to know how to lose.
All my Cattleyas are doing fantastic, they are very warmth tollerant, nothing can kill them in this weather. Many are producing sheaths and buds. Their relatives, the Encyclias are producing sheaths and buds too, I guess I know who is happy in my conditions and who isn't.
