I don't see many 412 sound examples out there so I am throwing this out there for my fellow recording nuts! My best overhead mics are the vintage U87's but these are just as nice in a different way. In one word... Smooth!
The C412 was in between the C12A/B and the C414. It has the famous brass capsule. I have B-ULS with the Nylon and a C12A. These 412's sound very similar to the c12A. They share a beautiful warm velvety low end and mids but shiny high end. Maybe the best mics I have ever heard.
No EQ or anything on these.
