Using an inverter power source is one of the first steps you can take to improve TIG welding efficiency. Inverters operate by switching high-voltage low-amperage alternating current (AC) into direct current (DC) back and forth at a very high rate of speed - up to 50,000 times/second.
Gasless MIG welding has some advantages over TIG welding without gas. Such as gasless MIG welding offers more stability and strength of the weld. It is easier to handle and it offers a diverse range of materials on which it can be performed. With TIG welding, use argon gas whether joining stainless steel, aluminum or steel. While push and pull both work well for MIG welding, with TIG, always use the push method.
Push or pull: Here the rule is simple. "If it produces slag, you drag," says Leisner. In other words, you drag the rod or wire when welding with a stick or flux-core wire welder. Otherwise, you push the wire with metal inert gas (MIG) welding.K-TIG is capable of welding at up to 1,000 mm/min 39.37 in./min), while TIG reaches speeds of just 300 mm/min 11.8 in./mm (depending on the thickness of the material being welded).
