A look at Manningtree railway station in Essex on the evening of Saturday 14th August 2021.
Manningtree is located on the former Great Eastern main line between Colchester and Ipswich and is also the junction of the branch line to Harwich known as the 'Mayflower Line'. All services are provided by Greater Anglia and consist of long distance services between London Liverpool Street and Norwich, semi-fast services between London Liverpool Street and Ipswich and stopping services on the 'Mayflower Line' between here and Harwich Town.
At the end of this video we see LNER B1 class 4-6-0 number 61306 'Mayflower' passing through with the evening working of the 'EUR 175' from Colchester to Norwich. This was one of a number of tours over the weekend to celebrate the 175th Anniversary of the opening of the Eastern Union Railway in 1846, the first railway to reach Ipswich.
