Immunotherapy – vaccines, drugs and modified human cells that activate the immune system to destroy tumors – is improving outcomes and prolonging the lives of patients diagnosed with some type of cancers.
As a member of Siteman Cancer Center's brain tumor and skin cancer specialist teams, Dr. George Ansstas cares for patients diagnosed with brain tumors, skin cancer & melanoma through treatment and recovery. His work, extensive research and involvement with clinical trials enrolling melanoma patients, is contributing to the success of immunotherapy treatments at Siteman Cancer Center and beyond.
"We are a major force for moving the science forward," said George Ansstas, MD, associate professor of medicine at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. "We've been part of the effort to really enforce this observation (immunotherapy success) by enrolling more patients and expanding on the science of it."
