To be honest, I had no plans to upgrade this year. But due to the prospect of having a USB-C phone again, and computational photography that can finally put up a fight against the Google Pixel, I just had to reconsider! And true enough, the camera (the software that is) of the iPhone 15 Pro can finally go head-to-head with Pixel, so much so that I found myself shooting in RAW less often, if at all. The contoured edges make the phone feel thinner than it is. It's lighter for sure, but not remarkably so. Bezels are noticeably thinner, but they also don't make any difference in day-to-day use.
In line with having everything USB-C, we also got the AirPods Pro with an updated port. Sadly, I had to have it serviced because, for some reason, its sound quality is a tad worse than my Gen 2 Pros last year. Hopefully, they acknowledge the issue.
Lastly, the Apple Watch Series 9 may look identical outside, but it is considerably faster now, the animation is smoother, the screen is brighter, and now instead of Graphite, I went with Silver since it's the color compatible with most watch bands available.
