Gout Signs and Symptoms (& Why They Occur)
Gout is an inflammatory monoarticular arthropathy (inflammatory joint condition) that is caused by deposition of monosodium urate (uric acid) crystals into joints, ultimately due to hyperuricemia (high levels of uric acid in the blood). In this lesson, we discuss the variety of signs and symptoms of gout, including during a gout flare, and we also discuss why signs and symptoms occur.
