"Dr. Julie Bishop is an associate professor of clinical orthopedics and chief of the shoulder surgery division within the sports medicine program at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. She serves as the team physician for Ohio State's swimming and rowing teams. She is a sub-specialist in all disorders in the shoulder, including complex and revision type surgeries.
As an avid runner, Dr. Bishop understands the need to get back to sport as soon as possible. Her work includes advanced open and arthroscopic surgical techniques to restore damaged joints, ligaments and bones. Her work is backed by advanced research, along with a dedicated multi-disciplinary team.
Dr. Bishop's approach to patient care is providing individualized care to each patient and problem.
"I am passionate about what I do as an orthopedic shoulder surgeon," she says. "That’s because I get a lot of pleasure from treating not only the straightforward problems, but also the complex and more difficult shoulder problems. I love helping patients reclaim their quality of life and getting them back to the activities they enjoy."
