Vladimir Lenin’s embalmed body will be kept in “lifelike” condition and Russia’s government is shoveling out $200,000 to do it. The Russian Biomedical Technology Research and Training Centre has carried out all of Lenin’s bodily repairs since it was first put on public display in Moscow's Red Square in 1924. Lenin’s maintenance budget has not settled well with Russian citizens with some stating that Lenin would have never wanted to be treated as an “idol” and others disgusted by the amount of government funds allocated to preserving his image.
