Which cardioid dynamic microphone should you use for podcasting and YouTube?

Is it worth it to spend more on a brand name professional dynamic microphone or are budget solutions a viable alternative?

After listening to my sound test of these two dynamic mics, you will have a better idea of the quality differences.

In fact, I like to test most of my mics against the Shure SM58, because it is such a common and widely known microphone.

My test clearly proofs that even budget vocal microphones can be used for podcasting, let’s plays and YouTube.

While dynamic microphones are usually less sensitive than condenser microphones, they can have the benefit of being more rugged, and usually, do a better job rejecting unwanted sounds from the environment.

Personally, I think dynamic mics are great for beginners because they are generally easier to handle, and as you have seen, can still produce a very nice sound.
