The Kleinwalsertal is located in the Allgäu Alps and belongs to the Austrian state of Vorarlberg. The high valley is in the municipality of Mittelberg and is part of the district of Bregenz. Due to its geographical location with its alpine terrain, the Kleinwalsertal has no direct transport links to the rest of the Vorarlberger Land. The valley can only be reached by road from the neighboring municipality of Oberstdorf in Bavaria, Germany.
