Lake Nakuru is in one of Kenya’s finest national parks, the Lake Nakuru National Park. Just a
couple of hours out from Nairobi is one of the most stunning locations in the country, with lush
greenery, a gorgeous landscape, and one of the most beautiful lakes you’re likely to see. It is a large, shallow alkaline lake in the East African Rift valley, with a maximum depth of just 6 feet. Nakuru is one of the Rift Valley lakes that run along the eastern side of Africa from Ethiopia in the north to Malawi in the south. It is most famous for its pink flamingos. The abundance of algae attracts tens of thousands of pink-colored flamingos. The flamingos feed and play here, skipping elegantly like ballet dancers as they run across the shallow waters of the lake shore.
