In this video, I make the claim that no style is ideal for dealing with multiple attackers and that your best defense, whenever possible, is to avoid the situation and get away. I often hear experts in striking arts (American Kenpo included) claim that their style is ideally suited for fighting and defeating multiple attackers. This is simply not true. This is not a movie. Most Kenpo practitioners cannot defeat multiple attackers in a street fight scenario and those who try to do so will likely be taken to the ground. If you are taken to the ground and cannot get away, and have no knowledge of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (or in my case, Gracie Jiu-Jitsu), the results can be even more fatal because you likely won't be able to get up quickly, if at all.
Is Kenpo Better Than Jiu-Jitsu for Multiple Attackers?
