Dr. Barbara Yaffe, Associate Chief Medical Officer of Health for the province of Ontario, told reporters on Monday that exactly 17,392 cases of the novel coronavirus have been reported worldwide.
Yaffe also outlined for reporters on Monday what criteria the province is looking for when identifying possible cases of the novel coronavirus.
As well, Dr. David Williams, Chief Medical Officer of Health for the province of Ontario, told reporters that in his opinion, the screening process for passengers flying out of Hubei Province, China, the epicentre of the coronavirus outbreak, is more extensive than what is widely believed.
