Don't Throw Out Your Sweet Potato Vines | We're Overwintering Sweet Potato Vines | Guten Yardening Easy Sweet Potato Slips for Next Year's Garden
As our summer sweet potato growing season ends, we are left with a lot of beautiful sweet potato vines, and while we could eat the sweat potato leaves or compost the vines, there is another option.
This year we are going to overwinter our sweet potato vines. This opens the door to growing sweet potato vines in hanging baskets as beautiful ornamental sweet potatoes, or growing them to maintain slips for next year's garden, or even overwintering them so we have slips ready to grow sweet potatoes in the winter.
Harvesting sweet potato vines is very easy, and propagating roots from sweet potato vines is also easy. In this video we show you how we are cutting off sweet potato vines and placing sweet potato vines in water to grow slips.
Cutting sweet potato vines is easing and propagating sweet potato vines is even easier! We hope you enjoy these gardening 101 tips.
