Rex Begonias are primarily grown for their colorful and textured foliage. They get their name from the Latin word for king, and the foliage certainly looks like royalty. The coarse-textured leaves are colorful, with streaks and splashes of silver, cream, green, purple, red, pink, and burgundy. Rex Begonias are rhizomatic meaning they store their own water in their rhizomes therefore they only need to be watered twice a month.
