This will be the first of our two part series on Jack Whiteside Parsons, famed rocket engineer, chemist and occultist. In part one we will take you from Jack's early life and upbringing into his initial rocket experiments and interests in explosives, all the way to the founding of the Jet Propulsions Laboratory, all while discussing the bigger history of rockets and the rise of rocket science as a legitimate field of scientific study in the United States.
