Kalabaka (Kalambaka, Kalampaka)
Kalabaka is a town and seat of the municipality of Meteora in the Trikala regional unit, part of Thessaly in Greece.
It is of Turkish origin and means "powerful fortress". It has been Anglicized variously as Kalampaka, Kalambaka or Kalabaki.
Kalambaka is well known all over the world due to the legendary monasteries built atop Meteora rocks, situated near the eastern and northern part of the settlement.
Kastraki is a village in Kalabaka municipality, Trikala, Thessaly, Greece. It is located just northwest, within walking distance, of the main town of Kalabaka.
Kastraki (meaning 'small castle') is a small, peaceful village that from afar looks like an eagle's nest at the bottom of the gigantic rocks of Meteora.
