Last day off train strikes in the uk
And you wouldn’t believe we get what could be our best catch ever
Lad spots a train he wants to go see late afternoon so I agree to take him
Hatton is our normal spot after school
With Southampton being a regular spot at around 3:40 this day we didn’t go because off industrial action but checked real time trains
Southampton was running late and then got to the station before Hatton warwick parkway
The train had not moved now for hours that was very strange
Then a bescot train to Hatton came on the list
Putting 2 and 2 together thinking thunderbird we went to see what was happening so drove to parkway station and Southampton is not there
We continue to drive to Hatton
And there just before the goods loop we spot it’s carriages
We walk across the fields to a foot bridge but it’s to far up to spot the failed Southampton train
But we do get the thunderbird slowly passing us with nice tone
We continue up to Hatton and the thunder bird pulls in with the failed 66
The thunderbird staff get off and the train continues on to East Midlands gateway
So not bad action
But there is a few more passing freight so we wait and we get 66 flying dustman
And this is where we get lucky as the train my lad wanted to see all the long is now stopping for the thunderbird staff that are awaiting a train to pick them up that happens to be a 5 66 convoy
So it pulls into Hatton with some great celeb trains on it inc Ukraine gbrf 66
And pulls away with staff on board giving us time for photos and much better videos than it passing at speed
Great spot with luck on our side
