This is how I replaced the BAL Accu-Slide motor, gearbox, and adjusted the Accu-Slide cables on all three slideouts on my 2013 Open Range 318RLS 5th Wheel RV. There is an instruction label on the wall near each slideout, however it doesn't tell you how to get to the adjustments. The tools needed are shown at 7:35.
You will need:
3/8 Wrench and Deep Socket
7/16 Wrench and Deep Socket
Needle Nose Vise Grips
4" Extension
Wobbly Adapter
I originally was only replacing the torn slide seals and needed to move the slide in and out a few times. Apparently the gear shaft decided to explode after 10 years of use at this time. A new gear shaft is $5, however the motor was also on it's last leg and I didn't know if the gearbox locked up, so I ordered a new gearbox and motor assembly. I ordered "ADNIK 225008 Motor & Gear Housing" on Amazon for about $160, however it has increased in price since then.
I tried for an hour to get to the motor and adjustment cables with the top trim on, but it wouldn't work. You will likely have this problem as well and will need to remove the top trim panels to access everything easily. Don't worry, it mostly screws in place with a little bit of adhesive and trim pin nails.
On my camper there was a mark exactly in the middle of the slide where the gearbox will need to be. Thankfully the camper was slightly leaning to the slideout side as when I unbolted the gearbox from the wall the entire slideout quickly slid towards the wall. I lined up the new gearbox assembly, drilled new mounting holes, and bolted it to the wall. Wiring was with butt connectors and electrical tape.
Cable assembly/adjustment took about an hour for the first slideout as I have never messed with these before and wanted to get it correct. There are other videos on Youtube for cable adjustment, so I didn't record anything while adjusting. If you have one slide out of adjustment, you may as well check the other ones, because they'll need it too. The key part of adjusting is to make sure there the cables are tight, but not to the point you can play a guitar with them. The adjusters also need to be as close to vertical as possible. The vise grips are used on the cable to keep it from spinning while tightening or loosening the adjustment blocks. After adjustment, run the slide in and out to work the cable and get out any additional slack from adjustment.
