A festival from indigenous roots where various people in the region of Oaxaca Mexico come during the rainy season, to celebrate giving and receiving through their traditional dances, dress, and they give out shots of local spirits, candies and sweet breads to the crowds. There is pre festival parades and celebrations, the festival for 2 weeks and post festival festivities, just like Carnival. Every night begins with a parade they commenced after Mass at he cathedral and meanders through streets downtown like a procession to the square in front of the World UNESCO Heritage site Templo de Santo Domingo Guzman and then culminating at the Zocolo (city center) square in front of the Metropolitan Carhedral of Oaxaca where the night goes on with much dancing and live music in the street. So much fun, a bucket list experience!
