But SERIOUSLY. Perfectionism is a common coping strategy for trauma survivors: “If I do everything RIGHT, that will never happen again!”
So the need for perfection feels like survival.
Of course, the coping backfires when we see it doesn’t really promise safety or immunity.
It’s running us ragged instead.
I hope you can go easy on yourself today. Maybe even share something with a “mistake.”
