Nigerian art is in big demand across the world, from Lagos to Enugu, New York to London. Today, BattaBox profiles one of the rising stars of this Nigerian art scene - Onome Otite.
"I like to use a lot of movement but at the same time I want to create an emotion, a feeling," explains Onome.
Based in London, with a small studio, Onome uses traditional African cloth to design her work from African cloth and denim manipulated into stunning art.
While many Nigerian parents encourage their children into law or accountancy, Onome is the youngest in her family and, as she describes: "Slipped through the cracks."
But as an Nigerian artist in London - it's not easy, explains Onome.
"It can be frustrating - Africa is where I'm from and I want to celebrate that - but people need to open their minds a bit and take notice of the African artists they have here as well," says Onome.
