Episode guest is Jennifer Cullenbine Co-founder of the Family Giving Tree, today Jennifer serves as Queen Elf and Executive Director. Jennifer earned her Masters degree in Business Administration from San Jose State University, where the very idea for the Family Giving Tree was born. The Family Giving Tree fulfills the exact holiday wishes and provides backpacks filled with school supplies to those children in the most need in our communities while inspiring the values of kindness, philanthropy and volunteerism.
While in college Jennifer Cullenbine she had been told to come up with a project for class. When she presented her idea, there was some skeptisum about if the idea could be made into a vaiable non-profit. Family Giving Tree has server over a million children in the Bay Area. They give gifts to children that do not normally get anything at Christmas. There is also a backpack program to help each child have a good start to the school year.
Jennifer's vision has grown to include a full staff of employees and lets her work full time on this amazing vision. Now, more than 25 years later, the Family Giving Tree is the largest gift and backpack donation program in California, having served more than 1,400,000 children and individuals living in need here in the Bay Area.
