“Our position on the strike remains the same!” This is the decision taken by members of the Uganda National Teachers Union (UNION) after a negotiation meeting with the government today failed to bear any fruit. The teachers laid down their tools at the beginning of the second term this week over the failure by the government to implement a 10% pay raise promised them in 2011.
