Hello Tech Lovers, in this video I will explain what is CLOCK SPEED and what is BUS SPEED, so we use COMPUTER and SMARTPHONE every day and some of us think adding more RAM will increase the COMPUTER SPEED but it is not exactly like this, so then how to increase the speed of your computer or smartphone, well for this you need to understand what is CLOCK SPEED, so what is CLOCK SPEED? The time any processor needs to process any single given instruction is known as it’s clock speed. Now the clock speed is measured in different units which are GHz or MHz, so what is GHz and what is MHz? So how much is MHz? MHz or Megahertz stands for 1,000,000 Hz which means your processor with 1 MHz of speed can process 1,000,000 instructions in a second and what is GHz? So 1 GHz or gigahertz equals to 1000 MHz or megahertz, ok so now this is how a processor works, and so why computer bottleneck? Why can’t we obtain higher processor speed with higher GHz or MHz in a computer processor? Well, this is because of computer bottleneck, now again what is computer bottleneck? For this, you need to understand what is bus speed? You might have heard of L1, L2, and L3 cache, these are the memories faster than RAM and RAM is faster than your existing hard disk, so whenever you turn on your computer, RAM starts reading data from hard disk so that it can be delivered to processor whenever the processor needs them, similarly L1 cache reads from RAM then L2 cache from L1 cache and L3 cache from L2 cache, now L3 is the fastest cache your computer has, and then comes L2 cache then L1 cache then the RAM and then hard disk, so if any of them is slower then it will not transport the data to your computer processor at the speed it can process, this causes a scenario like a bottleneck, you have stuff but the neck is slowing down the exit way, it happens similarly in your computer and this causes computer bottleneck which causes to slow down computer processing speed and this then slows down the computer speed. So this is how a processor works and this is what is clock speed and bus speed, clock speed is also known as clock rate.
