According to medical information, about 100,000 children in Guatemala suffer from respiratory diseases and more than 50,000 of these children die each year.
Most of the time, the respiratory problem starts with mild symptoms in children aged between 1 and 5, such as fever, coughing, stuffy nose, sore throat, earache, raspy breathing or wheezing when the child is asleep. These diseases are the main cause of visits to health centers.
