Digital Climate Advisory Services (DCAS) are tools, platforms, or activities that integrate climate information into agricultural decision-making, helping agricultural producers and other value chain actors build resilience to the climate change impacts that threaten present and future agri-food systems. However, small-scale producers’ access to these services remains limited around the world. Scaling up efforts, while leaving no one behind, is critical to safeguarding the millions of small-scale producers vital to our global food security.
This two-day training event aimed to facilitate the sharing of knowledge, best practices, and experiences, as well as to explore the latest innovations and approaches that promote the adoption of DCAS in Southern Africa.
Food security is a key pillar under the Africa Adaptation Acceleration Program (AAAP). Launched in 2021, AAAP is a joint initiative of the African Development Bank and the Global Center on Adaptation which aims to mobilize $25 billion, over five years, to accelerate and scale climate adaptation action across the continent. AAAP has already mainstreamed adaptation solutions into over $5.4 billion of investments in climate adaptation in Africa. These investments are vital for financing adaptation solutions in countries that are most exposed to the threats of climate change.

The Global Center on Adaptation is an international organization working as a solutions broker to accelerate action and support for adaptation solutions, from the international to the local, in partnership with the public and private sector, to ensure we learn from each other and work together for a climate-resilient future.
Founded in 2018, our global headquarters is hosted by the Netherlands in the largest floating office in the world in Rotterdam, with regional offices in Africa, South Asia and Asia Pacific, and a knowledge and research hub based in Groningen. Through our evolving network of offices, we engage in innovative solutions to drive adaptation at scale, high-level policy development, new research contributions, advocacy, communications, and work with our partners to deliver action on the ground.
Our work focuses on those who are the most vulnerable to the effects of climate change including the poorest people in the poorest countries. They are the least prepared to withstand the triple health, social and economic impacts of our climate emergency.
