When it comes to karale or bitter gourd, everybody is like... No, I don’t want to have that. But my daughter just love karela sabzi made in this way. So I thought of sharing it. This is very easy and simple recipe. It can be a good lunch box option. You can try this recipe at home and drop a comment for me. Do not forget to like, share and subscribe.
Ingredients:
• 1 Karale / Butter gourd
• 2 tsp Oil
• 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
• 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
• 1/4 tsp Hing
• 7~8 Garlic cloves
• Curry leaves
• Finely chopped Onion
• Turmeric powder
• Salt to taste
• 1 tsp Goda masala
• Red chili powder
• 1 tsp Jaggery
• 2~3 tsp roasted Peanut powder
• Finely chopped Coriander leaves
Method:
• Wash karale really good and cut off the stem part.
• Cut the karela into slices. Try to cut thin slices.
• Remove seed portion from each slice.
• Heat up oil in a pan.
• Add mustard seeds and let them pop up.
• Add cumin seeds hing, garlic curry leaves, onion and mix well.
• Add the karale slices, turmeric powder, salt and mix well.
• Cover and cook for about 5-7 minutes.
• Remove the lid after about 2-3 minutes and mix the sabzi well.
• Cover again and cook.
• No need to cook the karale completely. Let it soften up a little.
• When karale is about to cook completely add goda masala, red
chili powder and mix well.
• You can use kala masala ot the masala that you use regularly in
place of goda masala.
• Fry the sabzi uncovered for about 10-15 minutes.
• Stir well after every 2-3 minutes.
• Add jaggery, roasted peanut powder and mix well.
• Add 1 sachet of Maggi Masala-ae-Magic and mix well.
• Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
• Add coriander leaves and mix well. Karalyachi bhaji is all ready.
