Former South Australian premier Steven Marshall is set to retire from politics after more than a decade in state parliament.
Mr Marshall served as premier for four years, including during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, before losing the 2022 election.
He moved to the backbench after that election defeat.
His departure will set the scene for a by-election in the marginal inner suburban seat of Dunstan, which the Liberals hold by just half a per cent.
