Understanding pulmonary complications like acute respiratory failure (ARF) after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HCT) is crucial for the identification of patients at high risk of ARF. A recent study reports the development and validation of a new 22-point-based prediction model that effectively and reliably identified patients who are at a higher risk of developing ARS after HCT. This novel prediction score can help in recruiting identified high-risk individuals to clinical trials to gain insights and improve management of post-transplantation respiratory complications.
