Who would have thought that driving a few hours North would make the difference in my quest for brook trout! This is a little creek that I have done a ton of research on in the Winter, and I have been meaning to get out and hit it for a while now. Lawrence Creek was ground zero for some of the first management studies of wild trout populations in the United States. Its full effects were amazing to see! The creek, bug life, and most of all the fish were looking about as good as can be. We were able to catch them on both the nymph and dry fly! That made for a really exciting close quarters battle. As the spring begins to give way for warm summer days, do not be afraid of little spring creeks like this! That is where the fish are going to want to sit!
