When a patient comes in for a tongue and/or lip tie, Dr. Peterson uses the laser to "release" the soft tissue restricting proper function and movement of the tongue or lip (the frenum). This procedure is called a "frenectomy." When the frenectomy is completed, we ask parents to do stretches/exercises with their infants in order to minimize the risk of the frenums reattaching. This video shows and explains how to do these stretches properly and effectively!
