TME staffer Lindsay Straw plays a 1951 000-18 from @martinguitar at The Music Emporium in Lexington, MA. This lovely 1951 Martin 000-18 would make a fantastic first vintage guitar for someone who's interested in old-world sound without a 1930's price tag. Let's start with condition. Really, there's not much to say. You'll see the kind of honest, expected play wear that well-worn 70-year-old guitars show; but this one presents beautifully and is crack-free. Recent neck set & replacement Brazilian Rosewood bridge. First 7 frets replaced as well. All work done by the late Jim Grainger of Sparta, TN; and it shows expertise of the highest caliber. The sound is big & woody, with a dry, airy fundamental that makes it a great multi-use fingerpicking & flatpicking guitar.
Audio recorded with our Sterling Audio ST-55 condenser mics, straight into our camera. No additional EQ or processing has been added.
