Annnddd here we go. Whenever I make videos about how much it costs to live in London, including what I pay in rent, I get quite a few comments from people who are genuinely shocked by the rent prices, and many who are also disgusted and tell me I'm throwing my money away and should instead purchase my own property.
The thing is that there are MANY reasons why I choose to pay London rent prices and why I both cannot and don't want to own my own London flat. And the thing is, people of my generation around the world are dealing with the same societal and economic problems that prevent us from purchasing our own home without help from wealthy parents or inheritance money. We're not just throwing our money away on hipster cocktails and avocado toasts 🤣
So in this video I explain why I don't own a property and why I don't want to live somewhere else in order to save money to get on the housing ladder. So I hope this is either informative for you if you've been lucky enough to buy your own home, or you can relate to this if you also go through the same thoughts and difficulties, and pressures to "buy your own place, don't pay someone else's mortgage" 🙄 Admittedly, this narrative pushed on us for our whole lives has angered me which I think comes across in the video!
