Philippine Ambassador to Belgium and Luxembourg and Head of the Philippine Mission to the European Union
Discussed the significance of President Benigno S. Aquino III’s first Working Visit to the European Union (EU) and the Kingdom of Belgium as it coincides with the 50th anniversary of relations between the PH-EU.
The Ambassador cited the possible talking points that President Aquino might tackle in his meetings with European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso, European Council President Herman Van Rompuy, Belgian Prime Minister Elio Di Rupo and in the audience with His Majesty King Philippe.
She also enumerated the various assistance being provided by Belgium to the Philippines as one of its strong development partners, especially in the aftermath of super Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda). The Philippine envoy likewise lauded the approximately 10,000 Filipinos living and working in Belgium, saying that they are the best ambassadors of the country in this European nation.
