What do you get when you mix a strong headwind and a newbie pilot? A wingtip stall, of course!
The wind was blowing a lot more than the forecast predicted, but I flew anyway. It's kind of fun to fly in a headwind because if the wind speed is just right you can balance the wind, your glide slope, and your thrust to make the plane hover or fly backward. Perfect day for this kind of flying!
Except that I didn't make the connection that when you do this, turning suddenly will stall out one of the wings. You can actually see this happen in the first turn I make. But it's the one at the end that winds up causing the crash.
I've got most of my Bixler 2 put back together (thank goodness for foam planes!) But it may have cost me a battery.
