STORYLINE:
Canadian police dressed in plain clothes on Sunday arrested the alleged leaders of the more radical demonstrators trying to disrupt the Americas summit in Quebec.
Inside the summit building, the United States and 33 other countries in the Western Hemisphere were negotiating creating the world's largest free trade zone, stretching from Canada to Chile, by the end of 2005.
Outside the gates, police drove up in cars, and, dressed in plain clothes, wrestled the protestors to the ground.
Police in riot gear stood by guarding the scene.
Canadian police raced away in police cars with the protestors on board.
More than 10-thousand peaceful and more radical demonstrators converged on Quebec during the Summit to protest globalisation and the free trade agreement signed between the American nations.
Sunday was the last day of the summit.
