Forrest Gump is a 1994 American epic romantic comedy-drama film written for the screen and directed by Robert Zemeckis, based on the 1986 novel of the same name by Winston Groom. It stars Tom Hanks as Forrest Gump, a man with a low IQ who witnesses and is affected by some of the most important events in American history from the 1950s to the 1990s. Robin Wright, Gary Sinise, Mykelti Williamson, and Sally Field also star.
