Salt Lake City Council Chair Chris Wharton and EPA officials announce U.S. EPA WIFIA loan closing to support construction of the new SLC Water Reclamation Facility.
Formal announcement of the closing and awarding of a U.S. EPA Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (WIFIA) loan. This highly competitive loan will provide low-cost assistance to Salt Lake City in building its new water reclamation facility (WRF) and will save ratepayers approximately $80 million over the life of the loan. The new WRF is under construction and will be completed and on-line in January 2025. The current facility, located at 1365 West 2300 North will operate full-time until then.
